ROCHESTER — Three Rochester homes were burglarized during the day yesterday while the homeowners were at work. The homes were all broken into in the same manner. A rear window was smashed, and the bedrooms were ransacked. Rochester Police Chief Paul Magee said the homes were on Randall, Burgess and Old School House roads. He said the houses were unoccupied. The owners reported the burglaries to police after returning home. Chief Magee said he did not know the extent of what was stolen, but said from his experience, cash and jewelry are the items usually taken from bedrooms. He said no witnesses reported seeing the burglaries or any suspicious activity. "I have three officers out canvassing the neighborhood, trying to develop some leads," Chief Magee said. "If anyone saw anything suspicious, or if they something, they should give us a call." A Rochester home on Snipatuit Road was burglarized last Friday, but police do not think that is related because a window there was pried open with a tool. Any information can be relayed to the Rochester Police Department at (50 763-5112.
