I am trying to locate a policy on alcohol sting enforcement. Does anyone know what departments are big into conducting stings, or have a policy that they could fax to me?

We've done it a couple of times. Do it like you would a controlled buy for 94C, make sure they have only the money you give them, and no ID. We had a clerk swear that the kid we used had ID. We knew he didn't because we patted him down before hand.

Follow the link O-302 gives above. I recently attended a conference put on by the ABCC and if you do not follow the guidelines, they pretty much will overturn any punishment administered by the local authorities.

(Provided of course, the establishment appeals the suspension).

A controlled buy of narcotics is actually a lot easier than what the ABCC
proposes.

They even frown upon going back to an establishment a second time, say one month later, if they passed the test the first time. Their attitude is that alcohol stings should be educational and not punitive.

I got the feeling that they were not to impressed with the idea of locals doing stings.

They are the only organization I know that can conduct a sting, and in lieu of a suspension, allow you to pay a "a fine" to them that they impose.
