After a search with K-9s in a wooded area near Highway 17, officers arrested a Georgia man who is accused of stabbing another man during an altercation.
Sunday afternoon, Franklin County deputies responded to a 911 call reporting that a man had been stabbed. Officers said that they found 49-year-old Edward Anthony Ewing bleeding and unconscious. He later died.
Officers said that they determined that Bruce Murray, 47 of Lavonia, Ga. was the suspect in the fatal stabbing. Murray and Ewing were staying with two other people at a residence where the stabbing occurred.
Officers used K-9s to track Murray through the night and into the afternoon on Monday. They arrested him on a rural road.
Murray is charged with aggravated assault and murder. He is being held at the Franklin County Detention Center. He is also charged with a parole violation and had an outstanding bench warrant in Stephens County for failure to appear.
Franklin County deputies were assisted in the investigation by the Habersham County Sheriff office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigations and the Lee Arrendale Special Operations Canine teams.

And on the eight day, God created the K9. And so it was. And it was good! Amen.
