Navy Shows Off Its Terror-Fighting Dolphins

In a world of high-tech sensors and underwater robotics, Koa the bottlenose dolphin and others like her may still be the U.S. Navy's best line of defense against terrorists in scuba gear.

That's gonna be a pretty embarrasing for the first asshole to be taken into custody by a Sea Lion.

Sea Lion Breaks Surfer Girl's Jaw Last Edited: Sunday, 15 Apr 2007, 1:30 PM CDTCreated: Sunday, 15 Apr 2007, 5:00 AM CDT

04/15/2007 -- A sea lion has broken a 13-year-old girl's jaw while she was surfing off Australia's west coast, reports have said.
A marine scientist said the attack was bizarre and that the creature may have been trying to play with the teenager.
Ella Murphy also lost three teeth after the sea lion jumped at her.
She was being towed on a surfboard behind a speedboat at the time, near Lancelin town, 80 miles north of the Perth, Australia's Sunday Times reported.
Family friend Chris Thomas, who was driving the boat, said: "This thing just exploded in a full-on, frontal attack.
"It jumped out of the water at her and hit her head on."
Sydney Aquarium marine scientist Grant Willis said he had never heard of such an attack before.
"To be out in the water and be attacked like this is just bizarre," he said.
Sea lions can be very territorial, but usually only attack humans when provoked.
They can weight more than 400 kilograms (880 pounds) in weight.
Murphy was in a stable condition in hospital after having surgery.
