Just two days after he officially moved from Malden to Lowell to establish residency in the 5th Congressional District, Middlesex County Sheriff James DiPaola announced that he will not enter the race to replace US Rep. Marty Meehan in the 5th Congressional District.

That could be true but he has been able to keep a low profile thus far. He tells the story that the first night he was staying in his new Lowell apartment he missed his wife so much he decided to drop out. Considering his children are grown I don't know why his wife cold not have stayed in Lowel wih him.

I ment a low profile in the press. Except for the annual story about the selling of reserve deputy badges and the boat last year there hasn't been any major scandles reported that I know about.
