HARTFORD, Conn. -- Police have arrested a man in connection with a Hartford homicide case from over the weekend.
Hartford police identified the suspect as Troy Perry, 35, whom investigators said confessed to stabbing a 60-year-old man to death using a hammer on Saturday.
Police said officers checking on the welfare of Gary Graham found his body in his Hillside Avenue apartment with several wounds to his head caused by a hammer.
Police said they found Perry in the upstairs apartment. Officers said Perry made several spontaneous statements that he killed Graham by striking him several times on the head with a hammer.
Investigators said Graham was found wrapped in a blanket and was pronounced dead at the scene. There's no word on a motive as of Monday morning.
In court on Monday, it was also revealed that Perry was convicted in Massachusetts for assault with intent to murder.
Perry faces murder and first-degree assault charges and remains in police custody on $1 million bond.
