Police: Investigation Began With Reported Assault

WEST HAVEN, Conn. -- A months-long investigation ended in the arrest of man police accused of assaulting an underage girl and possessing a plethora of child pornography.

Kenneth Bothwell, 43, of West Haven, turned himself in to police Thursday on charges of sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, illegal possession of child pornography and importing child pornography.

West Haven police said their investigation into Bothwell's conduct began in June after receiving a report of sexual assault involving a 12-year-old
Police issued a warrant and searched Bothwell's Elm Street home on June 21. Investigators said they seized computers and other items from the home.

Police said images from the computers were forwarded to the National Center for Exploited Children -- Child Victim Identification Program. The center confirmed that the subjects of several photos were known victims in the U.S. and U.K.

"We have another, at least one other suspect in mind, and we are recovering several thousand suspected child pornography pictures," said Detective Robert Voets.

Bothwell was released on a $100,000 bond.

Oh what a surprise...
Another scumbag that finds children sexually exciting.
And ruined the life of another expendable child to boot. The fodder for the sexual counter-culture that thinks our kids are there for their sickening, warped gratification.
You don't see that everyday.. Oh wait, you do see that everyday actually..

The American Constitution is a beautiful piece of the written rule of law. I just wish they left in vigilante-ism for child molesters.

These assholes are the exact reason I am an "overprotective Father". I know where my kids are and who they are with constantly, and I am very selective about who watches them (usually family). These sicks fucks are the scum of the earth and have no problem with ruining these kids lives as long as they get their jollies off.

SE - I pretty much resolved myself to a very simple philosophy the day each of my 2 boys were born; the courts wont protect them, I will.
If anyone ever hurt one of my kids, they better have their affairs in order.
I'm prepared to do life.
