US flights costs 'to fall by third'

A PRICE war on flights from Britain to America is set to erupt — slashing the cost of fares by up to a third.

A deal struck yesterday between America and the EU lifted restrictions on travel between Europe and the US.
The treaty means European airlines will, for the first time, be able to run transatlantic flights to any American city from any EU country — rather than just from their own airports.
In return, American carriers will have free access to European airports and will be able to run domestic services within Europe.
Previously, US airlines could only fly to allocated EU destinations — and none of them were allowed to fly between EU airports.

Many times & love it! Been wanting to get back to London & to Northern Ireland to visit friends. It's been driving me crazy how expensive the fares have been to fly to Belfast in the dead of winter!
