A Miami police officer was arrested Tuesday morning, accused of kidnapping a woman on Miami Beach while in his patrol car and trying to rape her, authorities said.Michael Ragusa, 31, has been charged with kidnapping and attempted sexual battery by a law enforcement officer. He has been employed by Miami police for more than three years.
He is being held in a special cell at the Miami-Dade County Jail.
Police said the alleged incident occurred between 4:20 and 5:20 a.m. Monday at Collins Avenue and 75th Street.
The department's internal affairs section is assisting in the investigation.
