Boy shot in car

By David Abel, Globe Staff
A child of about 5-years-old was shot in an apparent road rage incident Wednesday night on Interstate 93 just north of the Zakim Bridge, State Police said.
The boy, whose name and age were not immediately confirmed, was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in serious condition, said Lieutenant Eric Anderson of the State Police.
He said the boy was in the backseat of a 2005 Honda sedan when someone in what witnesses described as a silver Pontiac Grand Am fired several shots, at least one of which blasted through the rear passenger-side window and struck the boy.
It was not clear how many times the boy was hit or where.
Anderson said the boy was in the Honda with three other people. The Honda’s driver pulled off the highway at Route 28 and took the wounded boy to the Medford barracks of the State Police.

By O’Ryan Johnson & Jessica Van Sack
The 5-year-old boy shot by suspected gangbangers last night on Interstate 93 will survive, Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said today. +1.... What a senseless act..... God damn dinks...

yup, senseless that an innocent child was shot...however, the vehicle was the intended target so I have to wonder about the other individuals who were in that vehicle as to how they became targets...
