I really enjoyed the Haverhill Auxiliary Website, especially one of the profiles, where some of the accomplishments that one of their officers is that he took the MSP exam and will be taking the Civil Service exam. Now i noticed their Aux Chief retired at the age of 21. He looks about 21, but got on about 17 years old. I am sorry but I haven't laughed that much for a long time, gives a new meaning to yahoos.

Back off dude! I don't see you "shutting down" whole intersections, or escorting ladies out in front of the church after Bingo like HAPD. Maybe you're jealous of somebody attending NERPI. I salute those "snowshoe cops" out on Christmas dodging the public works demons in their deadly plowtrucks. Don't even get me going on the "santa parade" and the potential for mayhem there!

And I agree (even if you are not being sincere), how about you thank the volunteers like HAPD who do things like this. The public loves the little things (which reflects upon the entire department; grandma does not know the "Auxiliary" on Junior's uniform has any relevance), and it gets cop-hopefuls a foot in the door.

It has been said a zillion times, apparently some people just do not want to grow up and quit the pissing matches... the bad guys do not look to see if you are a special, auxiliary, reserve, campus, marine patrol, etc...

I probably have more community service time than you do sitting on the shitter your entire life. Whether or not you're serious or kidding, you really don't contribute squat here.................But I would still defend your right to do so, cuz I'm a sucker for abused angry children.

As for the HAPD and any other like departments. Having read most of the law relavent to Auxies. If they train and are used as the law intends, the aux departments could provide a valuable service to the communites when called upon. Key phrase is "STATE OF EMERGENCY" That's when they are supposed to be used, everything else they do is under the scope of training. Do they need to be on the streets, or in a patrol cars to train? In some cases yes because when they do get called I would think you would want them to be competent especially if they are backing you up. As for traffic on Sundays etc etc etc... "if ever there is a state of emergency" your probably gonna use them for traffic and crowd control.

So long as they know their position should not be any problems. The real problem is that the command structure of these departments need to define their role and mission to their officers.

I never hear of Aux officers training as priority for natural disaters, riots, Mass evacuations and so on.

If an Aux guy wants to get some specialized training more power to him.

Just my humble opinion. Please chime in with yours (keep it civil please)

What I contribute to this board is an opposing opinion. Everyone on here, you included, seems to give everyone else a pat on the back for such a good job you do every day. I say that's bullshit. You are as screwed up as the rest of us. You don't like to admit it but it's true.
You and others can't stand being told the truth by one of your peers, and yes, I am one of your peers. Probably a better cop too if I put my mind to it but I don't really feel like making a big pinch like you. Yeah, those trespassers and OUI's really make you a cop, don't they?
By the way, I am not an abused child, I am an abused adult cop who only reads the drivel you and others post on here. Makes me and the other guys here at the PD laugh hysterically when you write something utterly stupid. It actually makes our day, so please keep it up.
