If you're in an actual pursuit, you should be listening to the two-way radio, not the AM/FM radio.

Thank you, took the words out of my mouth Delta... obviously not much experience with pursuits.

Break it off.

I'm pretty sure this post was made as a joke... I'm sure no one actually listens to the radio

Hey Tackleberry, lighten up....I'm quite sure it was a tongue in cheek question, a hypothetical, a lets all fantasize for a moment question....and for the record that song the Helicopters played in "Apocolypse Now" might get my vote....

I've never been in a pursuit before, but I always envisioned myself laughing maniacally as I haul ass after some scumbucket with "Hair of the Dog" by Nazareth (or the Guns N' Roses' cover) blaring as background music. All of my fantasies have a soundtrack.

"Now you're messing with a... SON OF A BIIIITCH!"

Of course, the song would fit better if I were a dude.

Having been in many pursuits, I can't think of a single one I found the least bit amusing. Remember that probably the majority of people who visit this site aren't cops, and I don't want them to leave with the impression that we're a bunch of thrill seekers who love pursuits so much, we even have a list of favorite music to drive like maniacs to.

Lighten up! Next thing you are going to say is that cops shouldn't make jokes about all the bad calls we deal with like death, bad accidents, calls with kids. If you don't have a sense of humor in this line of work, how do expect to deal with the stress?

Rock on!

I think it was one of the original Apollo astronauts who said, "Levity is appropriate in a dangerous trade."

There wasn't a perpetual line of people waiting to sue the Apollo astronauts.

Tip Toe Through The Tulips With Me----Tiny Tim

In between my screams of obscenities at the lemmings, I usually sing the Flintstones theme. Odd but true...

Posted by: NEPS

I do not like pursuits either. Pursuits test my mediocre driving skills too much to allow me time to think of theme music. But I will admit that when responding to emergency calls I have hummed the Star Wars theme -- you know, from when Skywalker and the other X-wing pilots are diving into the trench to attack the Death Star.

The best theme music that has actually happened to me was when I got into the cruiser to respond to a suicide in progress call and the Rolling Stones song "Paint it Black" was on the radio.

boy i hope when they come after me they're main arguement will be what type of music i was listening to at the time of the pursuit. i'll feel pretty confident in that case. i've review my policy and nowhere in there does it require me to turn off my am/fm radio. please don't bore this police forum with woes of being sued, it's the same old crap we hear at every training session. once again you reaffirm that you are truly a dolt.----dolt
