Masscops Motorcycle Ride to the Cape?

(Click here to view the original thread on the MassCops Message Board)

Posted by: robinlow

Is anyone interested in a short motorcycle ride to the cape (For those near Boston or South Boston)?

This weekend is St Patrick's day, and I believe many of you already have plans, so it may not be the best time, so I propose a motorcycle ride on the 25 March 2007.

If there are any better suggestions, please feel free to reply to this post.

Those who are interested should also post...

This is not a "Police" bike ride, but rather a Masscops members ride thing, so you don't have to be a sworn officer to ride. (But you will need to have a motorcycle!!)

My daughter's Christening is on the 25th too... the ride is not happening for me. Why don't you pick a date like in the early summer? That way people have time to make arrangements, you may accumulate more riders, etc.

I would consider riding so long as it's not a race. I'm getting old and like to take my time and enjoy.

PS: I got a couple of buddies that are Sheriffs, I am sure they would like to come along.

I'm thinking of just a short ride on the 25th to kick off the riding season.

Probably will do some other rides in summer, especially the charity rides that come up.

There are a lot of guys probably doing escorts for those charity rides too.

I'm interested in riding along the coast on the Cape on the 25th morning, and probably have lunch there.

I was thinking of meeting around Braintree (For those who are not living in the cape) and riding Rt3 down to the cape, probably meeting the others that live near the cape near the Sagamore Bridge Gas Station.

Then following Rt6 and cut south to the southern beach and ride along the coast line to visit the various light houses near the shore.

I've done this last Autumn, and its a nice ride along the beach.

Bring your friends as the more bikes there are, the more fun it will be.

The weird thing about an R1 is I only see them 2 places.... in the showroom and in my mirrors.

Does anyone know a good place to meet in Braintree?

I'd like to meet up to ride to the Cape.

I'd like to meet up at the Gas station around the roundabout where Rt3 meets Rt6 at 10am.

Did not expect the rain to take so long to end. So I'm probably up for a shorter ride, like to So. Boston or something. Currently as of 2am, roads are wet and maybe salty.

I'm thinking of riding around noon, so PM me before 11am and I'll let you know the details.
