I just interview with them today and its a very good job. Pay is 30K to start till after your 5 week training course then it go's to 37K a year after your 90 days you get a review then it go's to 37,500. Then every yr after in Nov there are reviews. Health and dental plan are good as well as life and auto/home insurance plans. They also have there own credit union 24hr use of the gym.

Also all uniforms and vest and gear are issued have locker rooms and all the other goodies also if your like me range time with your sidearm is big thing for me which with them anytime you get time you can hit the range ammo on them.

And they also have a good retirement plan !!

Hee friggin hee!

They're not federal reserve "police" these days..........
They were privatized years ago. Great 401k and health benefits though.

If you REALLY want to be a FEDERAL police officer and hang around some coin........check out the U.S. MINT POLICE. They're actually GS-083 Police Officers. Do try NOT to come away all starry-eyed from an interview making the position out to be more than it is.......

PEACE

The Federal Reserve does in fact have FPO's. Their training is done at FLETC like every other FED. They do have good benefits but I hear everyone just uses it as an easy in to the FED then they transfer out to different agencies.

I don't know how the hell the guy that posted this is going to make it through the process with that brilliant mind.

Then again, alot of FEDS aren't that bright.

My brain hurts from just reading that...... Can you imagine what his reports will look like.

Are these guys Federal Police Officers (GS-0083) or are they private Police or Security?

Posted by: SargeLorenzo

I applied, from what I read it's actually fed. police.

Just to clarify...The job says Federal Reserve Police. They ARE-NOT federal employees BUT do have powers of arrest on their property! They are a private police force at the "Federal Reserve". They ARE-NOT allowed to carry their firearms from work nor are they allowed to wear their uniform home, that is why they have locker rooms. Their uniforms get dry cleaned and are kept on the property.
The federal reserve is a private organization comprised of a board/cabinet selected by the president. That is were their so called federal police powers are comprised from. To have a federal organization handling the currency would be a "conflict of interest". A bit confusing but thats how it works there.
A good place to start out at w/good bennies. They dont go to FLETC but do "in-house training" and 1-2 weeks at a large federal reserve bank such as NY. They hire outside lawyers to teach the "law" portion. A glorified security guard position. They do get to do some decent training though, a friend of mine got to do training w/ the MSP STOP team a couple of years ago.
Good luck!

So just to clarify. Are the US Mint Police a private organization as well, as they are involved with US currency?

Posted by: SGT_GRUNT_USMC

The US Mint Police are a real federal police force.Unfortunately most federal uniformed police agenices (there are dozens of them) perform more static security guard work than actual poilce work.If you want to do real police work, join a local PD.

Sorry if it was not in a report formate for you die hard guys out there, I came on after I got home and had some other things to do. So I didn't take 20min to type something up.

Some people had asked in the past what the pay was like and other things, so I put a fast post up. Making a report and posting on a fourm are different matters, so why don't the people that want to be smart about it, keep the comments to themselfs.

And I think someone said the training is 2 weeks no its now 5 weeks sometimes in GA,NY or MI.

TROLL..... And your post still look's like a three year old wrote it. Learn how to form a sentence.... Just another good hire by the Feds.
