General Statement of Duties:
The basic purpose of this job is to ensure and maintain a secure campus environment. Incumbents of this position patrol campus buildings and adjacent areas; investigate crimes or other incidents; restrain or arrest suspects when necessary; provide assistance to courts or grand juries in prosecution of cases; and perform related work as required
Minimum Qualification:
Must have successfully completed training in accordance with training requirements established by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee. Must be eligible for appointment as a Special State Police Officer under M.G.L. 22C
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical after an offer of employment has been made.
Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class 3 Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
Appointee must meet all of the requirements for certification under Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 22C, Section 63 as a special State Police Officer and be warranted to receive police powers by the Massachusetts State Police Licensing Unit. Appointee must be eligible for appointment as a Suffolk County Deputy Sheriff.
