A cab driver is imprisoned and bail set at $100,000 after a chase Sunday.
Elmhurst resident Steve Janowski, 42, is accused of knocking over a police officer and ramming at least two cars while trying to escape.
He was pulled over by police at about 1 p.m. Saturday near the 600 block of West Fulton Street in Chicago after his cab was seen swerving and making an illegal U-turn, Cook County Assistant State's Atty. John Carroll said in Bond Court.
An officer ordered him out of the vehicle when Janowski couldn't produce a driver's license or proof of insurance. At that point, he sped away, knocking down the officer, Carroll said.
