Renters Insurance

In the wake of recent fires in the area, I'm concerned about what would happen if some burned down my building. It's so old I wouldn't be suprised if it went up on its own. I don't have that much stuff but still probly 15k worth of "stuff" that I wouldn't be able to replace right away. Does anyone know insurance agents offering renters insurance? The only ones I could find online were based on the west coast and my auto insurance doesn't offer it. Thanks in advance.

Safety Insurance does....... When I have visited my agent, they have signs on the countertop for it........ What part of the state do you live in ?

Safety yes, Commerce as well. It's worth it.

Renters insurance is relatively cheap as well..I use Metlife.

I use farm family but you have to have a farm....and a family to get it...

if ur a vet or reserve or NG than check out USAA. they r great, they do everything, insurance(life, auto, home renters), banking, retirement. I think they r amazing.

Ha, no family, no farm (roomates a pig?). I'm in boston. I guess I'll check again with Safety or commerce. Thanks for all the advice.

Whatever agent (not company) that takes care of your car insurance will be able to set you up with renter's insurance.

It's well worth it, but relatively few people get it. I take a shitload of past B&E reports, and I would estimate less than 5% of people in rental property have renter's insurance.

Ditto: It's relatively cheap. It's a must. The landlords insurance only covers the building none of your stuff.

Every insurance weasel vends renter's insurance. It's cheap. I always had it when I was a whelp wasting money on rent...

It's generally under $200 per year.
