MADD recognizes Leicester officer

TELEGRAM & GAZETTE STAFF
LEICESTER— Police Officer Daniel Dyson has been recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving for his efforts in enforcing the state’s drunken driving laws.

Officer Dyson was one of 47 local police officers and 17 state police troopers recognized yesterday at the group’s “Drive For Life Award Ceremony” at Devens Common Center in Ayer.

Last year, Officer Dyson:

•Made 19 arrests for driving under the influence and was the assisting officer in 10 other arrests.

•Seized one motor vehicle under Melanie’s law as a result of his arresting and convicting a fourth-time offender.

•Was involved in the arrest of a woman for driving under the influence — child endangerment. The incident involved a motor vehicle accident in which the driver had her child in the car.

Officer Dyson is “a truly dedicated police officer who works hard to make the community a safe place,” Police Chief James J. Hurley said.

The chief also credited all the officers of the department for helping to make the roads safe in the community.

Chief Hurley is a good guy. Leicester is now their regional training facility for that area. Its a pretty nice station i had an active shooter class there. But what does this thread have to do with aux and reserve officers?
