Didn't get the dispatching job @ MSP-Framingham barracks :(

Well, after a long, long period of waiting after my second interview, I recieved the "letter of denial" on Feb. 20th from MSP in Framingham. I'm bummed out considering how much I really, truly wanted this job and felt as if both of my interviews went very well. They stated in the letter they ended up hiring someone with the MSP communications background experience, and quite honestly, I can't blame them considering the training for a newbie is so extensive (and expensive for that matter!).

I guess I'll just keep my eyes open for any new openings.

Any suggestions would help!

Thanks everyone for your support previously till now. It meant a lot!

Well, I'm sure there will be more openings in the future. Keep your head up and give it another shot next time around!

Keep trying.. some people dont last at Framingham with the sheer volume of calls.. hell I get pissed when 2 or 3 telemarketers call my house

Good luck and hopefully you'll get another chance with the MSP.

Also like they other have said keep trying and try for other department as it will help show experience. Also look of any class that you can take as it will help build your resume and don't get to bummed about it most people I know who work in the field did not get hired to there dream job right away. Just keep trying and keep your head up

Its tough to get a job @ State Police. I have 6 years experience dispatching full time and I didn't get two jobs at two different Barracks. A janitor for the SP's daughter got the job over me for one place.

By reading the Globe I can see how much money those troopers make.

But why does a trooper's daughter need her own janitor?

94 it doesn't say a TROOPER'S daughter bro. It says the SP's daughter.......

Shore Patrol or Security Police?

I still don't get it. But then again, that's probably why he didn't get the job.

"Never give up" thats' the state police model. Thats what they drilled into us in the SSPO Academy. So you got denied apply again when you see another opening.

L4G81 - I wasn't hired the first time I applied either. Second time around I was.
OK, there were a few nepotism hires done first..... but no so many I didn't get 'in'.

Also - we were told with the new administration, that new hires were 'frozen'. So it may be a while till they post the position(s) again.

Thanks again, it certainly makes me feel a bit better knowing most people didn't get in the first shot.

I'll try again, that is when a new position opens up (whenever that could be!) I check this site randomly as well looking for any openings anyone posts with them again.

New administration, hmmm. That could definitely be a while then till another potential spot opens, but all I have is time to wait. Thanks again!
