Do you shoot with both eyes open or one eye closed?

I was trained to shoot with both eyes open, even with a scope.

Posted by: lofu

My option isn't there, both eyes closed.

I once tried to shoot with my third eye.
The recoil left me limping for a week.

I shoot both ways, but it's tough to get used to shooting with both eyes open.

I have a glass eye so.............. I dont have a choice either.

Why isn't there an option for both eyes closed?

Posted by: screamineagle

I bet djgj's dad can hit the bullseye every time with his eyes closed.

DigJiz's dad negotiated sniper school armed with a .38 snuby.

guess you need smaller grips on your piece

Posted by: SOT

When they are so small like that you can't do it. If it was at least normal size or larger it would have worked.

When shooting targets at the local range, I use one eye, but I noticed that during combat/CQB training, I used both eyes.

so ken u go both ways?

Posted by: Killjoy

I use both methods....."point shooting" and "precision shooting". They both have their uses.

I agree, No need to close one eye for precision shooting when your less than 5 - 7 meters.

Posted by: USMCTrooper

I use my right hand. Who shoots with their eye?????????????

Posted by: justanotherparatrooper

I learned from the movies, hold the gun sideways, close both eyes, yell odsenities and empty the magazine in the general direction of yo target.

Both eyes open is best for me.

Posted by: Delta784

I'm usually so drunk, I have to close one eye to stop the double vision.

Seriously, both eyes open. I lose depth perception when I use just one eye.

Only time I shoot with one eye closed is during Qual, and that is only at greater than 10 yards. Other than that it's both eyes open.. point and aim! If you have to engage a live target, the last thing you'll be doing is closing an eye.

My SIG 229 in .40 shoots even if I close my eyes...

Posted by: ninety_four_c

Personally I like one eye using the HOMEBOY SIGHTS with both eyes closed.

Posted by: screamineagle

I subscribe to two shooting methods, the spray and pray and the spread the lead.
