I spoke with a couple of BC cops who say that the teamsters are making a push to get on campus. that ought to be interesing with the jesuits. Are they a descent labor union?

the old MDC cops did well with them , but the Mets were very active and that's really the important thing .

the membership has to be active with the union. most departments have ways of playing favorites and dividing the membership.

stand together and any union should serve you well

I believe Revere PD is represented by them

Teamsters is a horrible union. Our department has them, and they have done nothing for us except lie. They have given us bad advise, and now we are looking to change unions. I wouldn't recomend them unless your a truck driver.

Uh-oh. A teamster talking bad about another brother teamster... hide the baseball bats.

a union is only as good as it's member's.

state corrections was with AFSCME when i started and we bargained with janitors and zoo keepers

then we started our own union , went under public safety , supported Governor Weld and did very well.

we took on some low paying counties who wanted to make the same money as us , got pissed when the union said it wouldn't happen overnight , voted out the good guys and put some real bozo's in there.

now were without a contract for the last 4 years and who knows what this governor will do !

the bottom line is the membership can make or break a union. be careful who you elect as shop stewards , business agents , etc

also pay close attention on the state house. it's a political town and having the right friends on the hill makes a big difference

maybe the F.O.P. or some other law enforcement specific union would be a better choice , but if you ignore what's happing at the union hall , bad things will happen
