A Canadian man now has more than interest charges to worry about. He is facing charges of illegally trying to enter the U-S after he tried to cross a river on a rubber raft, in the middle of the night, in extremely cold temperatures. He says he was just trying to pay his credit card bill in person, because he gets charged an 85-dollar fee if he mails the payment from Canada to the U-S.
Authorities say Wayne Kingwell used the raft to cross the Niagara River in freezing temperatures early yesterday with the intention of paying off the credit card bill in Buffalo.
They say Kingwell also told them he can't drive across a nearby bridge from Ontario to New York because of a past legal dispute with the Canadian government.
Before he was placed in custody, he was taken to a hospital for treatment of hypothermia.

Rubber Raft... $29.99, Black watch cap... $4.99... cheap gas station map... $3.00... operation by an unlicensed doctor to remove all common sense... $400.00... free room and board at a correctional facility of the Government's choosing? Priceless. Still paying the finance charges? Well thats just good business.
