Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Public Safety and the Duty Shift Sergeant, the University Police Officer will patrol University buildings, grounds, and adjacent areas, and enforce the Commonwealth of Massachusetts laws and University regulations therein. She/he will project an image of willing and helpful community service in the interest of campus security, crime prevention, and the general well being.

Qualifications Requires a high school diploma and two years experience in police patrol techniques or equivalent, preferably in a University setting. Also requires a valid Massachusetts vehicle operator's license, valid certification documentation of both American Red Cross or equivalent First Aid and CPR, and successful completion of the MA State Police Academy.

Maybe I am reading this wrong, but do they require an academy or is completing it after sponsorship a requirement of employment?

I heard that they will send you. I know back in march last year they hired a few and sent them through the SSPO...
