50 people arrested after party

BELLINGHAM - Police needed a school bus to haul away 50 people, including several from Framingham and some juveniles, who were arrested yesterday morning for partying too hard. Police said the owner of the house where the party was thrown is out of town, and a call came a little after midnight from a neighbor complaining about loud noise from the house at 164 North Main St.

"A neighbor called and said there were loud noises disturbing residents and people were going out (of the house), coming in, shouting," said Bellingham Sgt. Edward Guzowski.

Officers discovered one keg and a variety of bottles containing alcohol, according to Guzowski, and used a school bus because of the number of people who had been arrested.

"If you're underage, and you're throwing a party in Bellingham, you will be arrested," said Guzowski. "That's why there's accidents and terrible fatalities on the road. We can't just let these kids go, get in a car, and leave. They could kill someone."

The ages of those arrested ranged from 24 to 13.

The big bust came as no surprise to some neighbors, who said they noticed cars lining North Main Street on various nights for the past several weeks during parties at the house.

"The cars are there every Saturday night," said Melissa Visconti, who lives with her husband, David, two houses down from where the party allegedly occurred. "I was leaving for New Jersey one morning at 3:30 and people were just starting to pile out of the house."

Yesterday afternoon, the white, two-story house with green shutters showed slight traces of the party's aftermath, with an empty Bud Light case on its side by the door and an empty can sitting atop a trash bag.

A Red Silo cup - a staple of many keg parties - still sat in the windowsill of a second-floor window.

"I woke up at about 1 a.m. and there police all over the place," said Jim Dunn, whose home is directly behind the house at 164 North Main.

Dunn said he had never heard party sounds coming from the house but remembers a Wednesday night when every light in the house was on, from midnight to 4 a.m.

"I thought they might be painting their house," he said.

Guzowksi said it took seven hours for police to process all of the alleged offenders, none of whom is from Bellingham.

Agreed...that does make a nice statement, don't throw a drinking bash in Bellingham. One of my Sergeant's has done that a few times for about 25 - 30 underage youths; got the bus in and locked everyone up. It certainly sent the message which many of the "party guests" that night still remember quite well some years later. Although, it can make for a very unhappy dispatcher from what I hear and the booking officer too like someone had mentioned.

Kudos to Bellingham PD!

Ahhh, my allmamatter...Great job guy's!

I remember the nights of 30 pinches at a party, I think this is a new record for them.
Paper work takes a long time, With a bust that big, usually every one but one will come in off the road and assist with booking. But, I wonder how they crammed them into their 3 cells.
