Guys any info on a position like this one???

Posted by: kttref

What do you want to know? My husband used to work there...

Posted by: Macop

Seems like it would be boring as shit, but who knows.

Posted by: kttref

It is...some decent people to work with...but he was basically a high end security guard...they were instructed basically NOT to arrest anyone or do anything...but it's a good start into the profession...Looks GREAT on a resume.

Salary...training....?

Posted by: kttref

Salary I don't recall.

Training. You spend like 2 weeks at in-house training and that's about it. Nothing like a reserve academy or anything like that...unless they've changed it in the past 3-4 yrs...but I doubt it.

I drive by them every night going home from work.

They look cold and bored.

They are basically act as armed parking lot attendants, checking IDs on the way in to the building.

Every once in a while they do a 360 walk around the building.

I'll say this, they all look like professionals.

Did anyone submit an application for this position? If so, has anyone heard back?

I worked there before I got on PD - 98. PM me if you would like any Info.

Posted by: halftrack

I submitted an application several weeks ago and have not heard back as of yet, also attempted to contact Human Resources with no response.

Posted by: Opie

Me too, did two stints as a co-op from Northeastern (97-99). They were called Protection Officers back then.

Posted by: onetime

What can you guys give the rest of us for info? Pay, shifts, things like that?

Posted by: masscopguy

I applied when the position was posted about 3 months ago. When I followed up with a phone call the HR person said it was a "very popular position and they had received a tremendous response."

I was walking by the Federal Reserve one day and thought I would go in to the lobby shop to buy a newspaper and just check out what the officers were like. The building, even the lobby is not open to the general public, which is understandable but the officer at the door was rather surly and rude about it.

I didn't apply when the position was posted last month.

I applied, have not yet heard back.

masscopguy, Just a heads up, I'm pretty sure they do background checks and call your previous places of employment for references

Really, Newbie you mean they do background checks and call your references. Gee, I never thought about that. Do you have any other career tips?

Since, I have never had any difficultly finding work and am employed now, I am not terribly concerned. I have solid references from last 21 years of employment. But, it is nice to know you care. It means a great deal to me.

Since you seem to know who I am, please PM me (that's send me a private message) and let me know if I have been unfortunate enough to have worked with you at some point.

Why do you think he knows you? And if he does why do you assume that he thinks you will have trouble with references. Sounds like where there is smoke there is fire. It could be your tremendous personality and not your condescending wit coming through your last post he speaks of.

Frehley knows exactly who I am. Although, he wasn't man enough to identified himself by name in the PM he sent me, he used my name and referenced events that he and I were privy to.

The sole purpose of his post was a feeble attempt to embarrass me and discredit my reputation.

I think if you take the time to look at my previous posts and threads you may have a different take on my personality.

I started this Thread for the same reason I started several other threads, to inform the members on this forum about a job opening.

When a member asked if anyone had heard from the Federal Reserve, I posted what I had heard from the Federal Reserve about 5 months ago.

Frehley used this to take a whack at me. Based on his MO at work, this came as no great surprise.
