A French police officers union has been upset in the past few days over reports of extreme measures taken to solve the theft of a motor scooter. It seems a motor scooter belonging to 19 year old Jean Sarkozy was stolen and later recovered by authorities. Forensics experts were called in,Fingerprints were taken from the recovered bike and a helmet was examined with DNA evidence gathered. The investigation led to the capture of two 17 year olds who are charged with the theft. The French police and others complain the extreme measures were taken as the bike's owner is the son of Nicolas Sarkozy who is France's Interior Minister, the Chief Law Enforcement Officer in the country. The police union says hard pressed police resources were used for "private purposes."
