Who here from VT is familiar with them and what can you tell me about the agency (DMV) as far as working conditions, jurisdiction, cooperation from other LEO's, and the usual pts of interest. Their job description is pretty good and inclusive, Im just curious to hear those who have regular contact w/ them and their thoughts
Thanks,

This is a very good gig in VT. Good pay, take home car or truck, well I believe this will be a car detail, as they are doing more MCSAP related stuff than weighing trucks etc. The jurisdiction is statewide, with a responsibility of a certain area, for instance I believe one position is franklin & chittenden counties. These positions, unless the changed the area's already are for border counties, within a hundred air miles. It's a grant from the FED's for DMV enforcement of vehicles coming from out of country.
Anywho, DMV is a very good gig. Lots of motorvehicle work, you can do it all, cars too. Not much responsibility of responding to calls for service, except the occasional truck accident. Any other info, let me know.

I work with some inspectors at different weigh station details. They are a good group of guys that know their stuff. They seem happy with their jobs, conditions, etc. They work 5 on 2 off M-F days, at least those I talk to do.

Thanks for the info. All positive too. Lets see what develops.
Do they go through the same FT academy as other VT LEO's or is it agency specific/abbreviated to their mission?
Thanks

They go to the same full time academy.
