Main Page Class A LTC w/ Restrictions?

I just received an LTC with Restrictions to just Target and Hunting(feel its unfair but thats just life). Im fine with it for now because I just want to practice at the range but I have a few questions. When I bring a handgun to the range do I have to have it locked and unloaded in my trunk or can I carry it on me? I know I have to go directly to and from the range, but just was a little unclear here. Thanks

Transporting: Unloaded and in a locked case in your trunk, per the MGL. Of course, the locked case could be a gym bag with zippers on it as long as you can secure the zippers shut with a lock. However, a simple trigger lock won't do as it needs to be in a locked container.

I wouldn't recommend carrying it on your person unless you are on range property. If you carry to and from the range and you get pulled over (or any number of a myriad of other situations that you could find yourself in which would cause someone to discover you are carrying a gun outside the scope of your restrictions), you could get jammed up.

Hey thanks Frank, that does clear it up. Really appreciate it. Now one more question for ya. As far as my home safe goes, should i have a safe that is fire and water proof? Or can I just get something cheap at home depot or staples? (Obviously I have no kids at this point in my life).

I don't think the fireproof and waterproof is a necessity, but rather a nice thing to have. If my house caught on fire and I wasn't able to get to my gun for a few days, I wouldn't want it sitting in a puddle of water in my house, you know what I'm saying?

Frank, get a Glock, it can sit in the water, and be just fine.

You Billerica guys and your Glocks...

I have chrome vanadium tools in my garage that are rusty. Granted, I don't clean them every time I use them, but you get the idea. Eventually everything rusts...even Glocks.

Glocks can rust???? Im shocked, I actually remember seeing a salesman sharpen a knife using the slide....well, he tried anyway.

I have a cheap walmart safe and it does the job. It holds my sigs and glocks quite nicely.Rust free.
