FRAMINGHAM - After sideswiping several parked cars on Beaver Park Road while driving a stolen Toyota Avalon, police said the allegedly inebriated Natick man they arrested then punched a police officer and urinated on the station's booking desk. Paul L. Watson, 50, was so drunk that he spilled out of the stolen Toyota Avalon he was sitting inside when police opened the driver's door, according to police spokesman Lt. Paul Shastany.

Police had responded to the area after a caller stated a man, who was driving erratically down the street, sideswiping cars, threw his car into reverse and crashed into her vehicle.

"The guy was driving in the lots and on the streets, striking cars," Shastany said.

"The tire was flat on the Avalon and was off of the rim. He's been driving around colliding with curbs."

When police arrived, the car Watson was driving had come to rest but the man remained sitting behind the wheel, Shastany said.

An officer "opened the door of the car and Mr. Watson fell out of the car onto the ground," and police detected a strong odor of alcohol, Shastany said.

"He was unable to get up and was assisted to his feet by the officers," Shastany said. "When they stood him up, they had to hold him to prevent him from falling to the ground."

After a "futile attempt" to obtain information from Watson, officers took the man into custody for operating under the influence of alcohol, Shastany said.

Watson, of an unknown address in Natick, was arrested at the intersection of Beaver Park Road and Second Street, police said.

In all, he was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, operating under the influence of alcohol, sixth offense, operating a motor vehicle to endanger, assault and battery on a public employee, driving with a revoked license, without insurance and without registration, police said.

After being taken into custody and on the way to the station, Watson became aggressive, Shastany said.

"Mr. Watson got his second wind and started yelling and kicking at the partition and windows of the cruiser, as well as tried spitting on the officer," Shastany said.

It was Watson's high level of intoxication that led to the man's conduct in the cruiser and fueled another incident while he was being booked, Shastany said.

"Mr. Watson without notice zipped his fly, pulled his penis out and started urinating onto the floor and onto the booking desk," he said.

Then, the man lashed out again, Shastany said.

"They escort him to the cell and he, without any notice, and there was no reason, he turns around and punches Officer (Robert) Sibilio in the chest," he said.

Police discovered the Toyota Watson was driving had been reported stolen from a customer at the Happy Swallow Pub on Waverly Street late Friday night. The car was towed from the scene.
Watson was scheduled to be arraigned today in Framingham District Court.
