The Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police is in the process of conducting a membership drive in the state. In Massachusetts the FOP is a fraternal organization that any FULL TIME law enforcement officer can belong to. We have 14 lodges in the state and we recently added the Boston Police Detective's Benevolence Society (430 members strong) to our ranks! The FOP is the largest police organization in the country with over 325,000 members. The FOP offers their members some great benefits as far as life insurance, scholarships etc. for as little as $25.00 per year. The Tri-Town Lodge is a FOP made up of law enforcement from municipal, state, city, county collage & federal agencies. They are 200+ members strong and as very active with running different events. The FOP is not trying to compete with any other labor organization, but just build up the "brotherhood" between police officers in all different agencies throughout the state. When it comes down to it we all go out and put our necks out every time we get into that cruiser. We are all a target.

The FOP also offers a great Legal Defense Plan that can protect you for criminal, Civil and Administrative incidents. We are looking to start a Boston area College/University FOP Lodge or get different departments to start there own separate lodges. The Massachusetts FOP is run by cops for cops. Please check us out on the web at www.fop.net - www.massfop.org or www.massfop30.com . If you have any questions please feel free to call the State Lodge at (50 222-3184 for more information.

Fraternally,

Sgt. Larry Crosman
FOP National Trustee

Sgt. Crosman,
By starting a 'lodge' you mean getting a nice little building somewhere like the Masons and Vets do and having 50-cent drafts/ $1.85 bottles for all the local FOP members? Just shittin' I'm already signed up.
