I'm not a Newbie to the job. I just want to say hello to all of you in this Forum especially. I've been a University cop since I was hired by UMass/Boston on 12/26/80 and then went on to Harvard on 10/22/84. Prior to my time at UMass. I was priveledged to be an Auxiliary cop in Braintree for just about 2 years. So, basically, I'm not flaunting my years of experience, just introducing myself.

I've visited this site a few times and read some of the posts. You guys and gals are a very lively bunch and I finally broke down and joined. I think I'm going to like it here. It's fun to trade information with folks from other jobs as well as all the common gripes and bitches. We're all in the same boat, be it college, university, hospital or what-have-you and sharing makes us appreciate each other more.

Philisophical ain't I? I'm a very deep individual.

Well, that's it for now. I hope this counts as ONE post so that I only have four left to avoid special class. Honestly, I think Gil has the right idea. There are way too many dipsticks out there using this type of site for the wrong reasons and they tend to ruin it for everyone. No, that was no kissing up, it was being truthfully realistic.

Thanks for reading this and with luck, I'll read some replies that aren't hostile! lmao.

Hostility breeds hostility - judging by your introduction; I think you'll be fine...
(That is until 94c and HC get a hold of you.)

That's OK, Gil loves a good "suck-up" post now and again.
In fact, he's pays handsomely for it.

Welcome aboard Kilv. I too was a campus copper before getting on a municipal PD. Reading these posts is probably the MOST fun!

Hello Kilvinsky! This is a great site. There are quite a few of us that have started our LE career as University Police Officers. I have also moved onto a Municipal Department but did not forget where I started from. Welcome aboard

Don't believe a word they say. I just switched over to "Day Mode 1" and the lighter blue has such a calming effect.

Now if I could only remember where I put my medication...

By the way...You're not a Deputy, are you?
Are you related to any Deputies?

Thanks for the introduction post Kiv, hope you enjoy your time here.

As for the "special status" that credit must go to Koz, the idea that I temporally implemented was moderating post that it shouldn't have (automated, what can I say). Koz's idea seems to be working much better.
