Fellow college/university police officers:
Does your department have a website? If so, I am making a simple request: please ask your chief or director of PS to have it added to the Law Enforcement Friends page of Cops For Kids With Cancer. (www.copsforkidswithcancer.org) The founder of this organization, Ret. Boston Police Capt. John Dow, is in Mass. General Hospital with a reoccurance of his throat cancer and has been having a rough time. He has told the doctors that he needs 5 more yrs to get CFKWC off the ground. He has had to have a tracheotomy performed and a pacemaker implanted as well. I am working with the co-founder (Ret. Boston PD Supt. in Chief Bob Faherty) to increase the amount of friends on the site. You can then publicize the fact that your dept can be found on the LE Friends link on the website, and your dept's link will be seen.
As a parent of a 13 yr old with a very rare adult cancer, I thank you in advance for considering being a friend. As Capt. John has said, "if we can't help the kids, what the hell good are we?"
This request requires no contibutions, no purchases, nada, zilch. Just a desire to be known as a friend of kids with cancer.
Stay safe, and God bless.
Steve
