Serves as police prosecutor representing the Commonwealth in District, Superior and Federal jurisdictions. Responsible for the coordination of all investigatory and criminal case management (responsible for the investigation and follow-up of cases, interviews and interrogations of witnesses, suspects, involved parties); mediates justice in accordance with Commonwealth and statute laws. Assists with the coordination of protective services for guests/visitors to the College. Assists with the design and troubleshooting of technological assets, including but not limited to emergency telephones, CCTV cameras, alarm systems, teletypes, crime prevention technologies and software, recording devices, computer crimes software. Serves as liaison between department supervisors and subordinate staff, working to enhance the lines of communication and the exchange of ideas. Serves as liaison, and makes appropriate notification, between other department administrators, College officials and other agencies, if necessary, of significant incidents. Works with departments and student groups pertaining to crime prevention and suppression. Required Qualifications:
Two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in a governmental police force or law enforcement work; or a Bachelor's Degree or higher with a major in Criminal Justice, Police Science or Law Enforcement may be substituted for all the required experience. Applicants must be in possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License. The Appointee must: A) be eligible for appointment as a Special Police Officer under Massachusetss General Laws; B) be able to pass a psychological fitness examination prior to hire; C) be able to obtain and maintain a Massachusetts LTC Class A High Capacity Firearms License; D) be able to qualify bi-annually with required duty weapon; E) be able to pass a comprehensive physical examination which includes drug screening prior to hire; F) be able to successfully complete and pass a physical agility test; G) be able to successfully complete and pass a police recruit academy.
