Yet again, you need the R/I A to apply. Still trying my darnedest to get into that (or any) academy so I have something on my resume' and something in my files.

Throw Oak Bluffs, Aquinnah (M. Vineyard), and Orleans (among others) into the ring of towns hiring Summer Specials. Many have deadlines coming up quickly.

If you are thinking about working in P-Town the real trick is finding an affordable place to live. Housing is very expensive during the summer season.

The summer I was there, some of the early hires were able to secure a spot at the Coast Guard base for short money.

Make sure you network with the other summer officers and get together and go in on a place with 4 or 5 people. Otherwise, you will spending your entire paycheck on rent.

Hey aj, just to let you know orleans is hiring now and they will send you to the reserve academy but you should get your resume in soon because the reserve class will be starting soon.

masscopguy is %100 correct I did it for four summers. WELL worth it, was a great time, but if you best get on the housing SOON. Start looking now, and if you get the job, id say march is a good time to start looking and have something by the end of april/early may because shit goes quick. When I was worked a summer cop I knew in feb/march if I was getting hired.

hockeyman,
I'm aware that Orleans is hiring. However, if my sources are good (and I believe that they are considering they work at the R/I A closest to me) the last class before summer began Tuesday (or Thursday). So I just may be SOL for this summer and will have to try again next summer... With that said, believe me I will be putting applications out there fast and furiously.

Thanks for the info,
AJ

PS- Filling out the application and it's going out before the end of the day. -AJN
