SAN PEDRO, Calif. -- The body of USC kicker Mario Danelo was found Saturday about 120 feet down a rocky cliff. School spokesman Tim Tessalone said police were investigating the cause of death. The body was reported by a passerby at about 4:30 p.m. Police said Danelo appeared to have suffered traumatic injuries. In a statement, Trojan coach Pete Carroll said, "This is a great loss. Mario was a wonderful young man of high character. He was one heck of a kicker." Danelo, a 21-year-old junior place kicker, was a resident of San Pedro.
