What is the registry thinking??? Why do the new stickers look so much like the expired red ones???? Couldn't they use yellow or something?? It like when the green ones expired, and they came out with the blue ones that looked close to the green ones...anyone stop any orange January stickers yet, only to find that they are brand new and not the January sticker you thought it would be??

Your 100% right. When you put someone in Charge that has no Idea what goes on out on the streets, this is what you get. You would think that they would go Red, Blue, Yellow, Orange, etc... so the colors would change. Hard to see the correct color.

It's typical those that make the rules don't ask for input from those that are supposed to enforce the rules.

I just went back to work a few nights ago from being out injured since the summer. That was the first thing I noticed. I usually just run R5s anyway, its easier then trying to strain your eyes.

F@#$ the RMV, they suck. I wish they would work with us instead of against us. The Mass Chiefs of Police and the State Police should do something about them. A meeting discussing matters realted to law enforcement once a year would help.

Posted by: Macop

That would make too much sence.

What could they really do?

In 1994 the Registry issued orange stickers immediately after having red ones in 1993. I wrote a detailed letter to the Registrar expressing the frustration of officers and troopers statewide.
The response that I got was typical of a bureaucratic state agency: "we are aware of the problem, have discussed it with the manufacturer, and are working with law enforcement to remedy it."...........that my brothers and sisters was the Registry's response in 1994!
I know that the're really busy filling all the new hack jobs for the new administration. Hopefully they'll get around to it by the next cycle of red/orange.

As always,
stay healthy and safe

I woundnt count on it.

Remember about 3 years ago when they totally changed the stickers and removed the big center number? Another well thought-out idea by the registry.

Amazing how fast that system was scrapped when the 90-20 violations dropped to zero.

We've all seen the high-quality ink that they use...if they were to make them yellow, they would all fade and be a big white rectangle within 6 months.

yeah, adding a zero to the end of the new license plates was a brilliant idea too

Posted by: SUOKKO

I am convinced they are all idiots.

RMV is anti law enforcement and officer safety.

1. colors on inspection sticker
2. location of inspection stick
3. red R & black R
4. plate decal colors
5. plate decal size
6. plates that end in number 0(zero) or letter O
7. Bulls_it RMV codes.
8. PLATE NOT ON FILE(my personal favorite)

Just grabbed one on Springs Rd today. It's embarrassing because now you're back peddling. It causes us to just ignore stickers.

did the same thing yesterday, thought it was RED

How about this:
Inspection stickers and Registration sticker colors should be the same colors?

Wouldn't that make life easy?

Posted by: 1968SS

I did one yesterday too, THAT was embarrassing.

RMV - they're all a bunch of Sonsa' bitches!! If they really wanna keep the money flowing in from fines and whatnot, they really NEED to work with LE.

Posted by: Macop

I ran into one of those goddam plates tonight, for christ sake I couldnt even tell it was a 0 until nothing came back.

Posted by: serpico

Yeah what the f--k is up with the plates that have two letters then a zero. I would like to shake the hand of the genius that designed that one. F--king retards.

Posted by: JMJ

My buddy got pulled over by a trooper a few days ago for the sticker. The trooper asked him if he planned on getting the car inspected anytime soon. He said "I just did last week." The trooper took a second look and let him go.

I showed him this thread and now he thinks it's funny

I don't think they are zero's... by now most folks should now the format of the plates of our great ass state.

1234 AB
12 AB 34
123 ABC - if that plate was like this, then wouldn't have been an O (Oscar)?

How about the 2009 registration stickers...... blue almost like 07

wtf

I was actually at a meeting with the new Registrar a few weeks ago. I pointed out the issue with the new colors being close to the expired ones.

She actually got back to me and pointed out that the people who order these items are not law enforcement. When they pick colors, they pick ones that don't conflict with other valid stickers (in their non LE world, they don't think about expired ones because they are not supposed to be out there). The current contract with the manufacturer is specific to the # of colors (4 or 5 I can't remember). She said she would see if the # of colors could be increased to change the rotation.

I also suggested that the colors for reg and inspection stickers should be coordinated. For example blue inspection and reg stickers would both expire in 08 etc. She pointed out that the reg sticker contract is for more (or less I can't remember) colors than the inspection stickers so they would have to change the contracts.

She wasn't against the idea, she just couldn't promise it would be fixed anytime soon.

She did mention that they meet with the Chief's every year. I pointed out that not many chief's are concerned about inspection stickers and registration stickers.

On another note I posted a request for suggestions on changes to the RMV crash forms. I am on a committee with some people from the RMV and they were looking for suggestions. That request is posted as a sticky under patrol the patrol forum but only got a couple of replies.

Were are all the people with great ideas?????

----------
Actually it is a zero...it's a new combination the registry came out with as of "07
123-numbers
AB-letters
0-zero
"123AB0" with the last symbol being a zero

I have a suggestion, fuck the RMV and thier goddam contractors.
