Correction officers and parole officers have special state police powers, correct? Does that then qualify them to work at colleges as police officers that only require that you are a SSPO?

If you go to the sspo academy then it is transferable. If you work for the DOC and you just get sworn in through your job it is not transferable since it is meant only for your current place of employment. SSPO does not always mean academy trained.

Norwich, What? Parole Officers go through their own training by the Parole Board in Natick. DOC Correctional Officers go through their own training @ MCI Shirley.
SSPO's go through their own training in New Braintree. I don't know where you got your info grouping them together. Would that mean that because i am trained to work at Dunkin Donuts in Lowell, I would have a leg up at Honey Dew Dounts in Lawrence? You should apply!
