Hartford Police Department - Police Officer The Hartford Police Department is accepting applications for two police officer positions. The Town of Hartford is an active community of about 11,000 people located in the Upper Valley area in Windsor County. Starting pay is commensurate with experience. Benefits include:

Candidates must have the ability to pass the VCJTC entrance exam, physical fitness test and possess a valid Vermont operator's license. Vermont police officer certification and prior law enforcement experience are preferred. Attractive benefit package in a modern working environment. The candidate will be a patrol officer and will be required to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The candidate will be required to work overtime from time to time. This is an exciting opportunity for those who desire a career in law enforcement. Applicants possessing a two- or four-year degree are desired. The application process consists of oral, physical, medical, psychological, and written testing, as well as a polygraph examination and extensive background investigation.
