Chief of Police Town of Topsfield Chief of Police The Town of Topsfield is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Chief of Police. The Chief of Police directs and is responsible for the planning, managing, and coordinating of all activities and operations of the Topsfield Police Department and the Emergency Communications Department. Responsibilities also include budgeting, capital planning, building maintenance, public relations, and overall administration. The department consists of 10 FT officers, 14 PT reserve officers and other civilian employees. The departmental budget is $12 million. Minimum qualifications: Bachelors Degree (Masters preferred), FT M.C.J.T.C. Academy certified, and a minimum 5 years police supervisory experience at a rank of Sergeant or higher- Salary range $59,000-$81,000 plus Quinn Bill.
