question on the sspo academies

i been researching the sspo academy and looking into going on a college police dept and i don't understand the whole requirement thing to attend it. how come you need a combination of experience and education to go through the academy but you don't need it for the full time. how do people with no experience or college degree get on to college police departments. maybe i am just reading it wrong

I think you read it wrong. You can apply to the state police for a waiver from the academy to obtain your SSPO powers based on education and prior training/experience in lieu of actually going to the academy. Proof of post-secondary education and experience are not requirements to actually attend the SSPO academy.

FWIW... paperwork for the 18th SSPO in March had to be in last week... PAT is Monday 1/8/07.
