anyone know about the test put on by Holliston P.D. this Saturday. Do they have openings, or already have someone in mind. Also can u tell me anything on the dept. itself?

I don't know anything about the test or hiring process.Holliston is a very small town (14,000 people and only 19 square miles).There's about 19 officers on the department .Police work there I would imagine is very boring.No SWAT.No K-9.No Gang Unit.No Air Support.No Counterterrorism unit.

As far as I know, the invitation to test was extended to those who submitted a resume and cover letter in mid october(?) I am taking the test Saturday and don't know anything about it other than the PD might have screened candidates in the resume and cover letter stage? Anyone know how many testing?

Wow sounds like Sgt. Grunt want every dept. to be the LAPD......And I'm sure holliston is part of some sort of regionalized swat/gang unit.
Air Support? If need be thats what the State police are for.
Holliston is a nice town to work in. Its east of 495 so its expensive, but ritzy people break the law too.

I doubt they will hire anyone there without an academy anymore. Last one they hired left a couple of months later after getting the academy from them.

Last time they were hring, they were willing to send people to the academy if they fronted the money, then from there, I think they had some sort of reimbersment plan. I'm sure if you call them or go into talk to them they will let you know.

I believe they claimed test results in two weeks, although taking longer is certainly not unexpected (esp with the holidays and all)... But has anyone heard anything from the test?

Holliston is like UMass-Amherst, sometimes they hire from the test and sometimes they'll just put out a random hiring notice. Several hundred can take the test and less than a year later you'll see a hiring advertisement in the paper (no test)... like UMass-Amherst.

Holliston just hired a new chief, he's a great guy that was on Needham for many years. I think good things are in store over there.

Well I have no clue what's going on, but they haven't gotten or released the results yet. I coudn't get anymore information than that, the gentleman that I spoke with wasn't too sure about too much.

Test results were mailed out today 1/30/07 so we should recieve them in about a day or two.

Sgt. Grunt is correct. They DID have a SWAT unit and GANG unit but he retired. There is one guy who writes a lot of parking tickets, but he's due to retire next month, so the department might end up boring.
