The Town of Burrillville, a community with a population of approximately 16,000 is presently developing an employment list for probationary policeofficer in the Burrillville Police Department.
At the time of application, candidates must possess an education at least equal to the completion of an Associates Degree (60 credit hours) in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice.
A Bachelors Degree, in one of these fields, is desired.
Two (2) years of honorable active military service or four (4) years reserve or National Guard Duty may be substituted for educational requirements.
Likewise, certification from the Rhode Island Municipal Police Academy as a Municipal PoliceOfficer or three (3) years of satisfactory employment as a Correctional Officer may be substituted for the educational requirements.
Applicants must be a citizen of the United States with a valid Rhode Island driver’s license.
Candidates must successfully pass the following examinations: physical agility, written, psychological, and medical and drug screen.
A background investigation will be part of the process.
