Additional Duty Location Info: 1 vacancy - Charlestown, MA MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); TopIncumbent exercises a high degree of independence and responsibility in the operation of an intrastate Law Enforcement Communications System and an Ademco security and fire alarm detection control system. serves as communication contact between the public and Park personnel
provides communication assistance to outside law enforcement agencies
operates a multi-channel radio console system
provides support for other local national parks by accessing criminal and vehicle information
responsible for inputting case information into the Case Incident Reporting System (CIRS)
advise patrol staff of special events and functions
conduct shift briefings
receives reports and analyzes situations during all law enforcement activities
documents all aspects of the patrol and dispatch operations
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Applicant must possess 1-year of specialized experience comparable to the GS-4 level of difficulty, or the substitutable undergraduate study as specified below, or an equivalent of the two, as of the closing date of the announcement in order to receive consideration. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular rating factors (knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies) to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Four-year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with 24-semester hours related course work. Related course work is required when substituting education for specialized experience. COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the experience requirements. The minimum earned rating of 70 points plus the earned rating for Knowledges, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) will be totaled to arrive at the total earned rating.
