AFSCME Unit 1 Grade 10 Step 01 Position:Dispatcher I Campus Police Position Available:Immediately General Statement of Duties: Responsibilities include transmitting messages over a fixed radio base station system to and from mobile and fixed units in accordance with rules and regulations of the Federal Communications Commission. Will be answering the Campus Police incoming phone line. Maintains records and logs of information; all messages received and transmitted, weather conditions and individuals or authorities to contact in emergency situations. Searches files to obtain information in response to inquiries. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Minimum Qualifications:Knowledge of the provisions of the laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, etc. governing assigned unit activities preferred. Ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to maintain a calm manner, make decisions and act quickly in stressful and emergency situations. Ability to work independently. Ability to deal tactfully with others.
