WEEKLY SALARY: Starting at $36,713 to $48,620 maximum. Starting salary level is dependent on experience and years of service.
PLUS: Uniform allowance ($750 annual), shift differential ($40/wk), medical, educational and overtime (400 hours average annual, $12,900)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Possess certification of completion of a Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee approved academy, graduation of an approved Academy, or waiver from academy requirements by the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee.
* Possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license, and be 21 years of age at application deadline.
* Have the ability to communicate clearly.
* Have the ability to work at any hour and in all weather conditions.
* Have the ability to learn and demonstrate job requirements after being trained.
*Possess a Class A license to carry firearms.
DUTIES OF POSITION:
Under supervision, patrols an assigned area for the purpose of enforcing laws, ordinances, rules and regulations relative to the prevention of crime, the apprehension of offenders, the protection of property and persons, the preservation of public peace, and the control of traffic; perform investigative and inspection duties, and related work as assigned.
The PROCESS will consist of the following:

2. Interview with Chief of Police
3. Background Investigation
4. Psychological Written Evaluation and Interview
5. Medical Examination
NOTE:
• Applications are kept on file for one year after date of receipt.
• In accordance with State Law, no applicant who has been convicted of a felony can be appointed as a Police Officer.
• The Chief of Police interviews whenever a vacancy occurs.
• Background Investigations and Psychological and Medical Examinations occur after receipt of a conditional offer of employment.
