MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Police said that a man showed a gun and robbed a Manchester hotel early Tuesday morning.
Investigators said that the man entered an Econo Lodge on West Hancock Street at about 5:30 a.m. and showed the clerk a gun. The man demanded cash and then jumped over the counter, police said.
"When he came into the hotel, he displayed the weapon to the clerk, and then he jumped the counter and actually got behind the counter, where he himself took money from the drawer, approximately $300," Sgt. Maureen Tessier said. "And then he jumped back over and left."
No one was injured. Police used a K-9 unit to try to track the man, but he fled the scene.
The man was described as white, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds. He was 40 to 45 years old and had short, brown hair with a bald spot. He was wearing a black windbreaker with purple and white on the back and black windbreaker pants with a white stripe.
Anyone with information was asked to call Manchester police at 603-668-8711.

Police: Surveillance Tape Leads To ID Of Robbery Suspect
Man Described As Armed, Dangerous
MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Police said they were able to identify a suspect in a hotel robbery minutes after surveillance video aired on television.
Police said a man robbed a Manchester Econo Lodge on Tuesday morning. The surveillance video shows the man flashing a gun and jumping over the hotel counter.
"We received a call from a tipster who relayed that he had the identification of the suspect," Sgt. Maureen Tessier said. "Some follow-up investigation confirmed his identification, and warrants were issued."
Police said the man was identified as Arthur Durham, 41. Investigators said that he has a lengthy criminal history in Manchester that includes several burglary charges and a 2005 conviction for criminal threatening, in which he told his girlfriend he was going to kill her by holding a knife to her throat.
"We've broadcast these images of the individual, asking people with information to contact us immediately," Tessier said. "He is considered armed and dangerous. He has a lengthy criminal record. So we want people not to approach him, but call us immediately if you have any information about his whereabouts."
Tessier said the surveillance tape made the quick identification possible.
"The video surveillance was critical," she said. "The camera angles had excellent shots of the suspect as he committed the crime, and it was able to lead to his identification."
Durham has ties to Manchester, but police said he could be anywhere.
