A response to a domestic dispute turns into a deadly shooting, involving a DeKalb County Police Officer. Investigators say when officers got to the 6000 Block of Hitt Lake Court, in Stone Mountain, a woman ran out of a house, and into a neighbor's home, where she grabbed a knife. Witnesses say officers yelled at her to drop the knife, but she didn't listen. They say gunshots followed the ignored command. One investigator says the woman lunged at an officer, and that's what prompted the officer to shoot his weapon. That officer who pulled the trigger is now on administrative leave, pending an investigation. Because this is the 12th deadly shooting, involving a DeKalb County Police officer, DeKalb County C.E.O., Vernon Jones, was on the scene for the investigation. He told Channel 2 Action News that he was there because this is an important issue, and that the buck stops with him.
