Things that would be cool in IMC:

Well, there's a few things I'd love to see in IMC software.
  1. An easier way to search specific addresses in the "Selectively Search Dispatch Log". The latest software features the ability to search specific ranges, or only odd / even, etc, but now there's no easy way to check one specific address with out unchecking a bunch of things, and making that address the begining and ending range.
  2. Have Inspection Sticker Status right up on the top of plate listings where it summarizes the info (the summary is only on the absolute newest IMC build) Its cool to have the important things on the top, but still have to scroll down for 90/20 status.
  3. Be able to make entries into the CJIS /NCIC system (warrants, stolen thinges, administrative messages, etc). RI uses a great windows-based interface statewide, it's excelent. Everything is drop down menus and radio-buttons. None of this codes junk that is easy to mess up.
  4. Print a properly formatted WMS warrant service page. We can print the entire WMS warrant, but it isn't properly formatted for the courts. If it doesnt look like it came from CJIS, our court rejects it.
  5. The ability to run someone while looking at their file in "Checks". I get a lot of request for "Check John Doe of Main St, he's in the internal" with no DOB given. Being able to click a button to run him out would be fantastic.
Other than that I'm pretty satisfied. With the newest XML server, I'm getting almost everything back in under 12 seconds. I think the fastest for RMV stuff was 4 seconds. That, coupled with no printer-time is making it easy to run out suspicious vehicles or other things where time is very important where before it'de be better to run an R5 or something....

Oh. and 6. All incoming administrative messages go to the dispatch IMC screen. From there we could forward it to the cars for their direct review or print it out, or trash the BOLO stolen vehicle's from Wyoming.

I do not know if you tried this or no but to look up the call history for an address I go to the main dispatch screen and there a check button in the top middle you click that and there is a tab label address and you but the address in there and click on call history and all call for that address come up. It might be a little easier that trying to search the dispatch log.

Yes. But that will not display a log-type printout. It will come up with a list and you have to look at each call individually. Through "selectively search dispatch log" you will get an one print out (either on screen or to printer) that is of the dispatch-log type format.

This is a policy with CJIS regarding which machines can make entries.

This has been suggested to IMC and they are working on it.

Well, they need to review their policy. They've been teasing departments for five years saying that they are producing a modern windows-based interface, and still nothing.....

my town does not have IMC mobile yet, we are still using packet. Hopefully in the next couple of months we will switch over since the dispatch and records software is IMC.

I'd be happy if they could put unit IDs in the remarks line of plate queries so you can easily figure who ran the plate before... that and a database that didn't crash every other day....

That is a problem that isn't IMC's. When is it crashing? Durring the backup? Random times? How do you get it back up and running?

My IMC server / database computer has been running for I believe two months straight at this point... I dont know of anyone resetting it....

it certainly seems like an IMC problem when you have to run the database analyzer to allow IMC to check the .DAT files and correct them... it happens most frequently when doing master name updates, but also when entering calls... once we lost two days worth of calls and associated data, that was fun to recreate...

Is this starting when you're in the middle of a daily backup?

Working in a small-medium sized town I find myself trying to find contact numbers often. How about instead of one place to enter a phone number, there is a place for home, work and cell?
