Just curious how often do officers check a subject's III. (ie. everyone, only during arrests, etc.) Under what circumstances do you run a III? Thanks

Around here, criminal history cannot go out over the air. So, I usually only run it during processing of an arrest or during a relatively serious criminal investigation. Occasionally, though, if I have a guy with a gun that I believe may have a felony on his record, I will call in to dispatch on the cellphone to check.

If we feel the need to run it, say on a car stop, then we can...in fact if we want to run a criminal history we HAVE to call it out over the radio (at least the name). The reason for that is in case any other officer working has had a run in with that name....but it's up to the officers discretion. Yet we ALWAYS run it when processing a person, even if the arrest is for motor vehicle charges.

Can any CORI information be put over the radio?

Here, Must run for arrests / summons.
I will also run a III and advise my officers if the person has more than 5 on the BOP, or anything either violent or of importance (B+E's, etc) on their bop also. We're using the latest build of IMC so running full bop's is very fast, and running a full III is pretty quick as well.

Well, to run the QH run it under "driver" (picture of steering wheel if you have icons set up). Make sure you fill in the Name, Dob, Sex, and Race. SSN is optional. then in the right colum halfway down you'll see NLETS and NCIC III. Check off either or both boxes. You can also check off Q5.

When you get the listing back, the FBI number if any will be on the NCIC tab, or you will get the "no name in the index" message.

Then, there is a QR option (and an optional icon). There, just put in the suspects name and FBI number, F10 it. Your IMC administrator should have filled in the rest of the the stuff (address, etc) in the setting so it is automatically in there.

I know. It sounds long. But it's actually VERY fast. First, you arent waiting for printouts. Second, you can run a TON of things at once by entering things only once.
You getAlso, your IMC admin can set the icons that are up top. I have "Driver" "OLN" "Plate" (the "q2sx" one, not the "q2" one, q2sx provides more info), QR, and IQ. I think. Maybe a few others, but none of the unnecessary junk like BOAT, GUN, and stuff. Everything is accessable in the drop down menus, the icons are for the quickes....

You can run all of the arrest paperwork except the print-out of a WMS warrant for service to the courts, through that "driver" tab, if your agency allows IMC printouts rather than from the old-school cjis.

If you dont get it, let me know. I'll take screen-caps at work and make an easy "how to"
