The cop was lucky considering how easy it was for that crackhead to disarm her.

Somebody needs remedial handcuff training...nice technique

Sloppy from the get-go...ya, she was lucky to say the least.

Posted by: Mongo

Ya I'm probably gonna start some trouble here but she fights like a girl.

Posted by: BlackOps

I'm sorry to even have to say this but what an embarrassment. Two overweight citizens had to come and do this girl's job for her.

Makes us look real good.........

Posted by: Sniper

her Glock "jammed" ???????? come on now...

Posted by: Gil

Hey just be thankfull it was not another name on the wall.

the glock "jammed", the samaritan "kept it cocked" and pointed at the suspect...I hate reporters who don't research topics before they talk about them! It didn't "jam" there probabley wasn't a round racked in the tube! (Given her tactics, that would not surprise me!)

Posted by: Delta3

i found it hilarious when that fat woman just mounted herself on the crackhead... had me going for a couple of minutes

Posted by: CJIS

That was perhaps one of the most screwed up arrests I have ever seen on tape. They must have slowed the footage down because it seemed to be very drawn out.

Posted by: SPINMASS

She is one lucky Officer

Posted by: justanotherparatrooper

Let me get this straight... the samaritan kept a pistol (either misfired or no round chambered) on the guy.I guess this guy wasnt familiar with immediate action with a firearm.
She is damned lucky!

Posted by: Andy0921

God Bless Pat and the big women! I'm glad the officer was ok, but that was really a disgrace.

Posted by: Curious EMT

MMMM but it's important to have different physical requirements for women to get on the job...

If this is the actually video of the incident who keeps panning the camera left and right? Look at it just as the good sam comes into the frame, it pans far left and you can see a pick up truck that you don't see in the rest of it.

Could this be a reinactment that we are basing our critisisms of her tactics on??

Just a thought.

Noone is panning the camera, it was an effect used to emphasize certain parts of the video. They simply manipulate which part of the frame was the focus point to grab your attention.

But as for the video, yeah, shitty tactics...

This could happen to anyone not paying attention: male or female. The Glock jammed?! I think not, Chief801 is right: no round in the pipe.

Just a thought: the lemming resisted. Eff pepper spray...ASP all-the-way! This creep should be spending the rest of his nasty life in a "Fernault School" setting! Eat through a tube, scumbag.

Moral of the story: STAY THE F%CK ENGAGED. Every lemming is trying to murder you. Better federal DC than Sampson's Funeral Parlor at this point in your young lives.

\

Your absolutley correct, WTF ever happened to leg strikes i.e groin, shin, knee, foot, she just stood their holding the guy like she was at the prom.

Grant it he was a big lemming but WTF fight.

She got scared and forgot her training when she needed it most.

When training doesn't work it is time to improvise and use any means to survive.

If she was alone she would be dead.

How does he get the gun? Does she try to take him down at gunpoint and he grabbed it when she drew or did he take it out of the holster? I can't tell with that video footage. Looks to me she should invest in an Uncle Mike's Pro-3 or any triple-retention holster for that matter. She was like a deer caught in the headlights.

Thank god there are people out there that will help the police when there is no backup around and they need it. Unfortunately they aren't everywhere.

Stay safe.

Did this officer have to climb the wall?

Posted by: Tackleberry22

Lady, you are lucky. Not many are as lucky as you. I remember watching a video where a female officer from (Texas or some southern state) got her face punched in by a guy that she had pulled over for a MV infraction. She spent months in the hostpital recovering from her injuries. I agree Mongo, she completely forgot her training.

Posted by: justanotherparatrooper

Ive seen that video and the interview afterwards.. Good thing that fat chic hadnt heard of Jenny Craig!

If it's the same one the video your talking about was with a black male who had his 11 year old daughter with him.

He just finished doing five years and punched the female officer in the face while stating I am not going back.

The female officer never went back to work.

Posted by: Tackleberry22

Yep that's the one. Only five years ? Should have been in there for 20.

Again the expert speaks....little to do with what type of holster, how about some DT and retention techniques

Well everbody else seems to believe she forgot all her training. What do you think would happen if she were to get in that predicament again? Probably forget her training, so what good would that be.

If I remember correctly the guy in that incident got a 40 year prison sentence for assaulting her; he probably would've got a CWOF in MA....

Posted by: Mongo

He had just did time (five years) the female officer stopped him after he just got out.

Thats why he beat her cuz he said while he was beating her that he wasn't going back.

Guess he was wrong.

Why?

Posted by: benike84

Not really sure of the actual reason, but something about them being sued and their equipment being unreliable. I've never used their products before so I don't know if they are unreliable.

Posted by: Curious EMT

I have never used their duty holsters, but their concealment stuff is absolute junk.

In response to djgjthinkshesanencyclopedia:... well.. no response needed... I'm hoping that you're saying that a tripple retention holster will save a cops ass from a gun grab. I need something clear and definitive to save and repost every time you infer you're an uneducated moron and need to produce it for clear cut evidence of such....

Posted by: Killjoy

Our armorer has a quote that I feel is appropriate for this scenario : "Gun retention is here (points at head), not here (points at holster). In my humble opinion, a triple retention holster has one function, to keep your gun in its holster the moment you need it.

And on another point if she can't "remember her training" then maybe she should forget about being a cop.

It won't. If she didn't resign yet, she'll be riding the pine for the duration.

I almost lost my sig once only once, had to fight like like hell to keep it kicked screamed bit you name it Then it never happened again d i s t a n c e is your friend lady

How many days was she suspended?

Posted by: BrickCop

The civilian who rescued her was awarded a Carneigie Hero Award for his actions...

The Linden Texas PD only has 5 F/T officers......

Posted by: mpd61

Normally I'm a pretty cool-headed guy......................

ANY officer regardless of gender, experience, training, etc can freeze, go dark, lock up, brain fart, whatever.
How many of you critical geniuses remember the young, ex-military southern cop taken out by the veteran with a rifle during a traffic stop? He keeps screaming "drop the gun!!!" over and over and over. All the while the perp keeps telling him "I'm gonna shoot you, etc" Come the hell on folks!

This officer was tactically soft, but she did keep in the fight. Hopefully she learned.
I PRAY none of you cynical, critical, subjective, mysogynist, snots EVER get into a handgun retention situation. You just might find that you're not PERFECT either.

BTW= last time at Range, Three (3) glocks had failure to fire due to weak hits on the primer. And one brand new Glock22 JAMMED after every shot. It made for a damn good tap 'n rack drill. Don't believe me? Talk to the Randolph, Easton, and Massasoit officers present.

Posted by: Mongo

The old saying - - - Been there done that.

In this case----------Been there sure as shit didn't do that.

If you freeze like that even once the way she did. You should put in your papers.

She offered only a grab and no counter strikes what so ever.

Like I said before if it wasn't for the two civillians she would be dead.

Please don't send a message out there that it was o.k. every one has bad days.

She didn't use proper tacticts, training and had no fight in her.

Mechanical firearm failure is another story.

If we have bad days .....WE DIE.
